Since 2011, I have been providing birth and postpartum support to families in West Michigan, the Atlanta area, & across the United States. I believe birth is a natural and spiritual rite of passage that is to be honored and celebrated. In 2016, I chose to answer the call to be a Midwife. I believe midwives are the gatekeepers, the souls chosen to welcome our Ancestors back earth side and I am honored to be there to celebrate their return. I am currently attending Midwives College of Utah and have apprenticed with Angelina Ruffin of Touch of Osun Midwifery in the Atlanta area. Placenta Encapsulation
Placenta encapsulation is the process of preparing the birthing partner's placenta after the birth of the baby by dehydrating, powdering and placing it into capsules for them to ingest. The purpose of ingestion of the placenta is to reintroduce beneficial hormones, proteins, and other nutrients to the body following labor and birth to help restore physical and emotional balance, prevent or lessen the risk of “baby blues” that may lead to postpartum depression, increase breast-milk production, shorten healing time, increase energy levels, and provide an overall feeling of wellness to aid in the transition between pregnancy and the early postpartum period.
